Next year marks 10 years since the launch of Toteme, founded by partners in life and work Elin Kling and Karl Lindman. With its roots in Stockholm, behind that unwavering Scandi-minimalist aesthetic, the brand has garnered international reach, most recently opening the doors to a store on London’s Mount Street. With its high ceilings and windows, light-dappled white walls and marble display stands, the space has the feeling of a gallery, showcasing ready-to-wear alongside a sculptural nickel sofa by Marc Newson, and artworks by Wade Guyton and Carl Milles.

“A style universe with a singular aesthetic,” Toteme describes itself, as Kling and Lindman endeavor to create an experiential element to their closet curation “inspired by the lives and needs of women.” The result is a collection that swerves trends in favour of a continuation of foundational, high-functioning staples. Standout pieces this AW23 include the T-Lock clutch and top handle bag in espresso brown, a series of elegant eveningwear including a butter-soft cashmere cami dress with a detachable scarf for draping over the shoulders when out, and an oversized sweater inspired by the brand’s sellout embroidered scarf jacket. The signature wool-cashmere coats, knitted turtlenecks and shearling jackets are familiar favourites.

This season also sees the launch of Toteme jewellery. The fine jewellery collection encompasses stacking rings and delicate chain necklaces in 18kt recycled gold and diamond settings, while the signature line consists of everyday staples - bangle bracelets, rings, hoop earrings and a collar necklace with enamel detailing - that feel like a natural extension of the brand's ready-to-wear.
